The past year has been incredibly tough for us all. At the same time it has taught us so many things. We know that everyone is struggling with his own problems whether they are physical , social or financial. This pandemic has taught us life long lessons. The very much needed thing that we learnt is about wellness and health. We learnt that in the long run of chasing our dreams, we can not leave our health unnoticed.
During this pandemic when we are under a constant fear of infection risks, it is very natural to develop anxiety. Continuous flow of negative and sad news and restrictions to move anywhere freely, have added to our anxiety and depression. When our mind is flooded with the uncertainty of the future, we often experience sleepless nights. Many people are not able to relax their mind during this time thereby causing stress in mind.
Continuous anxiety or stress can bring forth many health conditions such as high blood pressure, muscle tension, breathing issues, etc. Stress triggers our nervous system that is the main cause for all these health issues and in such situations, yoga can help us to stay calm.
The posture and asana of yoga help us to reduce muscle tension, stiffness, joint issues and relax our nervous system, resulting in a relaxed mind. There are a lot of yoga poses which help us to manage our blood pressure level and anxiety. Yoga also teaches us to regulate our breath, which can make a person feel relaxed and at peace. Yoga is the best thing to adopts a lifestyle habit. Yoga helps us building a strong physical, mental and spiritual health system. When we combine it with breathing and meditation, it acts as the best element to take care of our mind, body and soul. There are different forms of yoga that can help us to stay physically strong and mentally balanced. It could also be something you can motivate others in your family & social circle to do.
Like every year, this year also we will celebrate 7th International Yoga Dayon 21st June. The theme for the International Day of Yoga this year is 'Yoga for wellness'. It is important to understand that mental health is very important for survival. To help with this growing level of anxiety and depression, we must lead a healthy lifestyle, stay connected to our loved ones, and practice yoga at home.
I hope to see you all in the school soon. Till then stay home stay safe and practice yoga at home.

Happy Doctor's Day
‘Happy Day to all the doctors who always put their patients first and do their best to gift them health.
As a way of recognizing their efforts, Indian Medical Association (IMA) observed the first National Doctors day in July 1991. In India, this day also marks the birth and death anniversary of Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy who was one of the most renowned physicians in the country.
This year, the day seeks to thank all and medical professionals for their service against the fight against the corona virus pandemic.
There’s no better time than now to take a minute to acknowledge and appreciate the efforts of all the doctors of the AMI family, as also, in every corner of this world. You are more than just a doctor, you are friend and guide too.
Traditionally, doctors don’t have to risk their own lives to save others. But that’s what it has come to today – doctors, nurses, and paramedics are all on the frontline of a war against COVID-19. Fighting the battle against an enemy that can’t even be seen by the naked eye, so that we can stay safe at home.
Many paramedics and nurses are coming out of retirement to join this fight as well.
Let’s celebrate the heroes!
It is your deeds that make us feel proud. It is great to have a doctor in the family.
Happy Doctors Day!

My 'high' and 'low' of Corona period
The High: Due to the lockdowns and limited clinical work in the hospitals for the non-covid care providing , during this pandemic, I found plenty of time to enhance my scientific Research and Publication work in 2020 and 2021. I was awarded the Asia Book Record for publishing the maximum research papers. I wrote 165 articles in one year (2020) and got 106 of these published in several peer-reviewed International and National medical journals. (https://www.asiabookofrecords.com/maximum-medical-research-papers-written-record-by-an-individual-in-a-year/).
The Low: I was struck down by COVID during the peak of the first wave of it, on 1st November 2020, and needed to be hospitalized briefly. Fortunately, I came out of it without any problems. During my illness, I realized that this viral infection causes severe weakness and mood changes, apart from other symptoms like fever, cough, breathing difficulties, loss of smell and taste, etc. One may get weird and negative thoughts during the self-isolation during this illness, and hence need to be always positive in these challenging times.
I penned down my experiences of the illness in a medical journal. (https://ijmsweb.com/a-fight-with-sars-cov-2-infection-covid-19-experience-of-an-orthopedic-surgeon/).
Message: It is expected that the children may also be affected by the Coronavirus in the 'third wave' of it. Hence, it is crucial that you all should try to prevent this infection, by maintaining social distancing, wearing masks properly, and by frequent hand sanitation.

Dear AMI folks ,
COVID 19 pandemic has exposed ourselves not only to suffering but also to realization of some unprecedented and unfamiliar responsibilities.
There has been a role reversal and this is one phase when youngsters and children have the responsibility to protect and safeguard their parents and grandparents through their behavior. There has been some major incorporation of technology into our lifestyle during this time and it has suddenly opened up avenues for a different learning behavior for the future. The life ahead, in a country like ours , is going to be full of information , choices , options and opportunities and success will belong to those who will steer and tread responsibly on a defined and focused path amidst turbulence all around.
With best wishes ,
Dr. Rajesh Bhojwani. -
